Die formalen Erschließungsinformationen sind für alle Fachrichtungen identisch, hierin liegt der größte Vorteil des Metadata Sharing.
Darüber hinaus können eigene Klassifikationen oder Fachthesauri der Kooperationspartner in das System integriert werden, so dass die Partner für die Präsentation ihres Datenbestandes in ihrer Webumgebung zusätzlich die gewohnten Sacherschließungsinformationen verwenden können.
